ArcNC expands multi-robot programming with ABB support

18 September 2026

ArcNC has added ABB support to its multi-robot programming capability. Released on 8 September 2026, the update also lets users keep a manually chosen weld order while ArcNC adds synchronization points automatically.

ArcNC simulation showing two welding robots and a positioner working on the same component.

Using a CAD file, a digital cell model and configured welding settings, ArcNC generates programs for two robots working on the same component. It assigns welds, plans movements and positioner angles, and checks the space needed for work scheduled together.

Signals called handshakes coordinate when each robot program can continue. Between handshakes, the programs run independently. One robot can complete several short welds while the other works on a longer seam. A combined simulation shows both robots’ movements and waiting points.

Users can also compare cell layouts before investing. Simulating the same part in different cell models shows estimated robot cycle times and where each robot waits.

About ArcNC

ArcNC develops software for autonomous welding, helping manufacturers bring more small-batch and high-mix work to the robots they already own. Built for welding teams, the platform automatically generates robot programs, including the weld sequence and robot motions. Every setting remains customizable.
